An editorial calendar can help you keep on track with your content.
Plan out monthly themes and stay ahead of the game with what it is you want to say and where you are going to deploy it to.
This can be pretty overwhelming.
While this is a basic structure of an Editorial Calendar, it will give you a guideline on where to start.
Click here to get an Excel copy of the following template.
Start with:
monthly themes
chunk it down by week.
Then, even further by days.
Who is writing the content.
Who is approving the content?
When will it be deployed?
What is your call-to-action (CTA)?
What were the results? How many people saw it?
What Social Media sites did you share it with? How often?
You will also want to consider:
Is the content deployed consistently?
Is the content creative?
Does the content help elicit comments and communication?
Does the content have a call-to-action?
Is the content contextual – meaning does the content fit the channel you’re sharing it in (LinkedIn is business, Twitter is a watercooler)
There is a lot to consider when creating content but having an Editorial Calendar will help you keep focused, on-track, and will help eliminate the overwhelm of “what the heck do I post today???”

Is this kind of template useful? What will you add to your Editorial Calendar to make it useful?
