Facebook Applications for a Healthy Life
Did you know that Facebook actually has HEALTHY applications?
MapMyRun (Cardio) and another app called My LogYourRun – links to Google maps, runners, walkers and bikers can find routes, share them and give feedback. Another application for runners is Running Ahead: http://apps.facebook.com/runningahead/
Cardio Trainer – like MapMyRun, this app can map but it also uses GPS (coordinating with a smartphone) to also map your speed.
Medical News Today – featuring the latest health news.
Fit-ify (Weight Loss) – Starting with entering your height, gender, and current weight, this application can set weight-reduction goals and allow you to set exercise routines and set weekly goals. Once you’ve achieved your goals, it gives out awards to encourage you to stay on track.
Calorie Counter (Weight Loss) – A straight numbers game. Less calories in + more calories spent = weight reduction. This application helps you to count the calories you consumer. Another similar application is MyDiet.
Stop smoking with NICORETTE® icy white (Quit Smoking) – Since it’s product-specific, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s all Nicorette gum, all the time. Though it’s supposed to get you started and encourages you to discuss other aids with your doctor. (What – no “Cold Turkey” app?)
There is also http://apps.facebook.com/quit-o-meter – a community of smokers who have quit or want to quit.
My Countdowns – This application displays a countdown to a certain date on your profile. Whether it’s a wedding, date of a race or other monumental event, you and all of your friends can keep track of a specific upcoming event.
Yoga Poses – a step-by-step guide for beginners
I have yet to try any of these programs. Would love to hear what results you’ve received using any of these applications.
