Prediction: Generative AI is going to replace SEO in 2025
Generative AI is going to blow up SEO. There, I’ve said it.
At least 70% of Gen Z are using tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity and 92% of Fortune 500 companies are reported to have implemented or are planning to integrate generative AI into their operations.
Personally I’m using ChatGPT daily and I am rarely using Google.
Why bother diving through all the research when I can find out the answer instantaneously?
I predict that in 2025, SEO will shift dramatically from keyword optimization for broad audiences to targeting personalized search intent.
We will see a shift where content will swing into tailored and personalized content to the individual user’s needs.
Still not using generative AI yet because your company won’t let you? That’s OK, there are plenty of ways you can use it at home:
- a) Take a photo of your fridge and ask ChatGPT to suggest recipes based on the ingredients it identifies. Perfect for those “what do I make for dinner” moments.
- b) Use Voice Mode to negotiate your next big move—whether it’s setting boundaries with your landlord, planning a trip with a friend, or even talking through a salary raise.
I’ve used it to translate instructions on a Japanese pop bottle, to provide me with how to change the UV bulb on my water filter – simply by uploading a photo and asking for help.
How do you think AI will impact the way we search for information? Let me know in the comments!
