PUNCH!media, we LOVE to answer questions and help you to build your best online presence.
We asked our friend Richard at CMS Web Solutions:
What are your top 5 tips for a great site?
1. It must look professional and resonate with your company’s branding/image.
Remember potential customers, media & even potential employees will use your website for research. People can’t help making a judgement based on your you on your website.
2. It must be easy-to-navigate.
Don’t make your visitor work to find information.
3. It must be visitor-focused.
Remember it’s typically a single person looking at your website. Speak to them & provide the information that they are looking for.
4. It must be built to industry standards.
Be sure it’s tested on various browsers/devices and loads quickly.
5. It must be optimized for search engines.
Google is the online “Yellow Pages”. You want to rank high when people are actively searching for your business.
Really great advice!

Thanks for sharing these handy tips. While some of these may seem quite logical, it’s easy to forget your audience and the purpose of your website.
It’s often easy to get stuck on having a site you believe to be perfect, when really it’s not meeting the needs of those who matter most.
Yes, Virginia, I think we can all be guilty of looking at our business from our own perspective instead of focusing on the needs/wants of our clients. 🙂
