The next few weeks, we’ll take you through a series of steps to get you on the path to Social Media success.

Last week, we showed you where your clients (probably) are. Today we’re talking strategy.

And no matter what kind of business you are in, it all starts with a plan. Social Media is no different.

You can’t simply jump into the deep end of the water and expect to swim.

Be sure to do your due diligence and answer the following questions:

  • Who is your target audience?
  • How are they researching information and getting their news?
    (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs…etc?)*
  • What problem(s) does your business solve?
  • What key messages must you deliver to help them solve their problem(s?)
  • When do you plan to publish your messages?
  • Who is responsible for the content?
  • How will you measure results?

Social Media doesn’t work in a vacuum. You want to make sure all the stakeholders (from sales to operations) are involved in the process so that you can cover off all the needs of your prospects and clients.

Knowing the “end goal” will help you get on the right track from the beginning.

Be sure to measure, test and repeat.

Next week, we’ll talk about the importance of content.
