Blogging can be very beneficial to your business.

It can provide a personality behind the brand of your website.

Blogging can be as simple as a few sentences or a short paragraph.

It doesn’t have to be a full length dissertation.

Seth Godin http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ is an amazing thought leader who provides a few thoughts daily.

According to Hubspot, “studies of blogging prove that companies that blog more frequently have a higher likelihood of generating real customer wins from their blogs”

Most of us can’t blog daily. We’re busy working IN our business instead of ON our business.

But as you can see by the above chart, the more often you publish, the better success you have converting eyeballs into sales.

Start with some topline thoughts, organize it into an Editorial Calendar of what you will post, when you will post it (and if you need anyone to approve it).

Then, leverage your Social Media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc) to disseminate your message.

Remember to use a strong headline to entice people to click.

Some suggestions as to what you can write about:

  1. What’s going on at your business today/this week/this month.
  2. Are you involved in any charity work?
  3. Is there anything going on in your overall industry that you can add a perspective/opinion to?
  4. Give some “top tips” or “how tos”
  5. Anything fun going on “behind the scenes”? (Anyone bring in cookies?)
  6. Do a “client of the month”-focused blog
  7. Get guest bloggers to write a post for you! Anyone in a complementary business who can help add to the “how tos” or provide their expert opinion?
  8. Create a series of content that will get people coming back over and over again.
  9. Provide a review on a specific product in your industry.

Be sure to add pictures/visuals! Make it visually appealing.

Tap into an emotional pull and back it up with facts.

Keep it simple. Keep it compelling.
