The Power of LinkedIn: Selling Your Stuff
Recently, I’ve been training a lot on the power of LinkedIn.
It is, without question, the best Social Media site for business.
While most of us use LinkedIn to put our resumes online, there is a ton of potential for increasing sales if you dedicate your time and effort.
Why do people buy from us? Because they know, like and trust us.
LinkedIn has the power to provide you with inbound sales (people call you) when you have a strong profile using the right keywords and 100% completion. LinkedIn says you’re 40x more likely to receive opportunities with a complete profile!
You can leverage your 1st degree connections who can introduce you to 2nd degree connections.
Sales is all about relationship building.
When you put time and effort into LinkedIn, it’s relationship building at its finest.
You will still need to dedicate time to cultivating and developing relationships (face-to-face is always going to be the most effective).
But, LinkedIn will open doors that you never even knew were available.
Top suggestions:
- Get to 100% completion
- Put up a professional picture
- Continuously add QUALITY connections (at the very least have an online conversation before you accept any one into your virtual Rolodex)
- Spend 15 minutes weekly looking at a different feature of LinkedIn: add skills, publications, join Groups etc.
