How to create authentic memorable brands – with Brand Strategist, Laura Beauparlant of Lab Creative
Laura and I met about 16 years ago. She was a wedding invitation, stationary and creative designer. I was a sales rep for Weddingbells Magazine.
Laura’s designs were not only beautiful, but they were distinct, and bold (kind of like how I see Laura herself!). I was inspired by Laura’s confidence and seeming fearlessness. I wanted to be a bold entrepreneur just like she is.
When I founded PUNCH!media in 2009, I immediately chose what I considered to be “Laura colours”: a bold red, a bright orange and a splash of hot pink.
With Lab Creative, Laura’s business has transitioned into helping business owners create their own brand – which goes well beyond their logo.
“We alchemize authentic and memorable brands for ambitious entrepreneurs who want to stand out from the crowd and reach new levels of impact, influence and success.”
During our conversation, we talk about:
- How your brand differentiates you from your competitors.
- Why it’s ok for “everyone” not to like you, and how it’s ok to say “no” (this one I’m still working on).
- How her head-on, near-death car crash – when she was hit by a drunk driver – helped her to embrace life to the fullest.
