Social Media and Online Content Continues to Grow in 2010
Just like the Click Z statistics we shared on November 12, social media and online content is key in 2010.
According to the BtoB magazine’s “2010 Outlook” as found on Emarketer, social media marketing will be considered a priority for business-to-business marketing. Spending on website development, email and social media is on the rise.
Some other key statistics to note:
54% already use social media to market to their customers. This statistic is increasing steadily.
25% of US B2B companies use social media to generate awareness and 15% to engage with customers. Sixty percent stated taht positioning themselves as “thought leaders” is most important as is measuring success through response rates for web traffic and qualified leads (49%).
Personally, I’ve noticed a lot of websites/newsletters such as Media in Canada are supported both by ads and turning to paid content (at $149.95/year!). According to another article found on Emarketer, “the digital media landscape will be predominantly ad-based”.
It will be interesting to see how the new revolution of digital monetization will evolve.
Stay tuned!
