How is your Social Media “body” language
Over 93% of information we communicate is done via body language.* And yet, we’re spending a LOT more time with written communication; emailing and using Social Media.
We can’t easily convey the tone of our voice or a flirty wink of the eye. So, what can you do to maintain digital “body” language?
Personalize: People love to “hear” their name.
Be sure to send a personalized introduction to say why you want to connect.
Emotions: You can’t always share the tone of your voice. You can use emoticons 🙂 or play with cheeky hashtags #justsayin
DO NOT WRITE IN ALL CAPS. This implies you’re shouting and you wouldn’t do this in real life.
Be real. People want to connect with other people. Not with robots. Even if you are communicating from behind a brand logo, you could use your initials or your first name.
Say “thank you”. If people take the time to comment on your page or RT your content, it’s nice to acknowledge they’ve taken time to share your posts.
