I began the process of writing this book because I realized how many people (including the most successful executives), often tell me how uncomfortable they are showcasing their “wins” and highlighting their accomplishments.
Despite having over 20 years of sales and marketing experience, including 10+ years in digital marketing (which makes me a digital dinosaur), I have also often struggled with putting myself “out there”.

Who is Leslie Hughes and PUNCH!media?
Leslie Hughes is a LinkedIn Specialist, an Adjunct Professor of social media and the Principal of PUNCH!media.
Leslie began working in digital media in 1996 and has worked with brands such as Weddingbells Magazine, Visa Canada, and Prozac before starting her own company, PUNCH!media in 2009.
At PUNCH!media, Leslie has developed social media strategies for companies such as TVO, and The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. In addition to teaching at Durham College, she has been a corporate trainer for the social media Marketing Certificate at The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).
Leslie also works with clients such as Guardian Life Insurance Com- pany of America, RBC and Investment Planning Counsel to write and optimize LinkedIn profiles for their top executives.
Leslie has been a speaker at conferences such as Blissdom Canada, Editors’ Conference of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators Conference. She finds her most challenging audi- ence to be her students at Durham College – and not for the reasons you might expect.
Leslie is chuffed to have been called a “Social Media Guru” by CBC Radio and was featured on CTV’s “The Social” talking about “Managing Your Digital Identity”.
She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (B.A. Psychology) and has her Master’s Certificate in Neurolinguistic Programming.
